Explore Veterans Oasis Park at night and observe the moon through a telescope with the park’s Assistant Naturalist. Have a picnic at one of the park’s ramadas ahead of time! Changing Hands presents an afternoon of scrumdiddllyumptious activities to celebrate the 93rd birthday of Roald Dahl, the beloved creator of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches, and more. We'll honor Dahl with fun activities like our Fizzwiggling First Lines Quiz, Brain-Boggling Bookplates, Gigantuous Dahl character contest, and Wonka Wisdom games. For this Gobblefunkday we'll also help you write your own revolting rhymes and make up your own Oompa Loompa dance! Chocolate provided by Granny's Chocolate Creations.

For the Library to present enjoyable and successful programs, we limit the number of attendees for each storytime.

Event: Nature Walk

Description:
Join park staff for a guided nature walk through Veterans Oasis Park! Discover nature in your own neighborhood as you explore the hilltop viewing areas, wet-land habitats, and the shores of the urban fishing lake. Each walk will feature different routes, themes, and activities. This is a perfect program for the entire family! This program is free, but pre-registration is required and space is limited. Participants under 18 years

Event: Critter Keeper

Description:
Critter Keeper is a special two-hour program for children ages 6- 8 years old. During this program children will participate in ALL aspects of animal care including: cleaning and rearranging enclosures, measuring and distributing animal diets and preparing behavioral enrichment for animals. New for this year, Critter Keepers will be expanding their duties to include activities on Harmony Farm, the Children’s Trail AND the exciting, interesting and wild Arizona Trail!  Class sizes are small so register early for this special program!
